-The olympic opening ceremony got manipulated.Written by Steffen Kruse A lot of newspapers wrote about a "perfect show" and all over the world, millions of viewers were astonished as they watched the 2008 Olympics opening ceremony.
There was this wonderful girl who sang the "Song to the Fatherland", and there were gigantic fireworks in the night sky
of Beijing. But this spectacular opening ceremony was manipulated - twice.
During the entering of the national flag of China, Lin Miaoke, who didn't even sing, stood there beaming and
moving her lips. The voice belonged to the ten-year-old Yang Peiyi, who from the point of view of a functionary
of the politbureau, wasn't pretty enough to sing the song in front of millions of people with her wonderful voice.
She was chose during the dress rehearsal to stand out on stage and sing the song. But then, the music director,
and a member of the politbureau agreed, saying that they would have to change that immediately.
In my opinion, they should have changed that much earlier. Such a "big company" must have had something like
a casting, where they decide who will stand up and sing. It isn't right that somebody else gets the job at first, and then is told that they can't just a short time before the show. It should be predetermined, and everybody has to agree with it.
Also, the firework-footsteps that got shot into the sky were not real, atleast not the TV-pictures that got sent
all over the world. Most of the 29 "footsteps" that were painted across the night sky were generated by computer
graphics, something that Secretary General Wang Wei approved. Previously recorded images were used, "to alleviate
the work and create a dramatic effect."
Some of the footsteps fired over Beijing were real. "Because of bad visibility conditions, pre-recorded material may
have been used," said Wei. This information was disclosed by a member of the staff of the Beijing company
called "Crystal Digital Technology", which produced the digitalized footsteps.
I don't think that it is so bad that they manipulated the TV images. It would have been worse if the total effect was
lost because of bad visibility conditions.
Fake voice - tragic.
Fake feet - makes sense.
Fake voice, fake feet - everything's a fake?!
